Ethical Facilitation: Upholding Integrity Through Core Competencies
Facilitators shape outcomes not only by what they do but how they do it. Every stage of facilitation — from stakeholder alignment to closing reflection — carries ethical responsibilities. This session examines the ethical dimensions of facilitation through the lens of the Association Facilitator Core Competencies used in the FACILIT8me Certificate Course. Participants will explore real-world dilemmas and apply the self-assessment framework to evaluate their own practice across eight domains. Together, we will uncover strategies to remain neutral, build inclusive environments, balance competing perspectives, and safeguard trust. By connecting facilitation ethics to professional competencies, attendees will leave with a practical roadmap for upholding integrity and modeling ethical leadership in association and nonprofit contexts.
