Being a strong white ally in the fight against racism. I've been educating myself on this for the past year or so, but there is always more to learn and do.
I always tell people the easiest way to network is to ask people questions about themselves. People love to talk about themselves. That way, you get to know someone and don't have to do a lot of talking yourself if you are nervous.
Knowledge transfer can happen by reading, attending a class or seminar, or watching a webinar, but there is nothing like being able to have a one-on-one conversation with someone, asking them questions, and even watching them in action/shadowing them. Learning in a context you can relate to, targeting the information you are getting to your circumstance/need, and having a dialogue with someone who possesses the skills and attribute you aspire to have is so much more of a rich and impactful learning environment than those I mentioned previously.

As the CEO of a woman-owned business and supporter of women in leadership, I would want to meet as many historical figures as possible that played a role in lifting up woman as leaders. While gender discrimination is still alive and well, great progress has been made and I stand on the shoulders of people like Sojourner Truth, Susan B. Anthony, and Eleanor Roosevelt. I would want to tap into their courage and wisdom and ask for advice on what I can do to further their work in support of woman empowerment.
