As we come to the end of 2022 events, I feel tired, exhausted, and ready for a break.

At the same time, I love what I do and I look forward to the events coming along in 2023. Finding balance between the stress of event management and the pleasure of successfully carrying through all the logistics (always with some hiccups!) can be difficult but there's a reason those of us that do this work, do this work. In that vein, here is my own version of "My Favorite Things", inspired by The Sound of Music. I will spare you my singing and let you sing it to yourself in your own head. Or out-loud. You do you!!

Linenless tables and accurate orders
Local sourced food items and bins for recycling
Brown boxes all shipped and delivered on time
These are my favorite event planning things

Creative room sets and buffets with flair
Signage and name tags and event apps with schedules
AV teams that deliver quality productions
These are my favorite event planning things

Speakers that turn in their slides a bit early
Presentations that can be read from the back of the room
Stages that can be accessed by all
These are my favorite event planning things

When the room's wrong
When the food's late
When I'm feeling mad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad
