Gardian of the Month: Yesenia Murillo

Learn: What's one subject you'd like to learn more about?

I'd like to learn more about teaching restorative yoga, barre and aerial yoga.

Network: Tell us about one of your favorite personal or professional networks. What makes it special?

One of my favorite professional networks is the Government Alliance on Race and Equity. GARE is a national network of local government working to achieve racial equity and advance opportunities for all.

Transfer: How do you think mentorship aids in knowledge transfer?

Mentorship is imperative in knowledge transfer because human beings learn through example. Having trusted role models (also known as mentors) helps me gain perspective and concepts that I then adapt, apply and practice. Mentors have shown me the way and I continue to be eager when I get the opportunity to be able to pay it forward.

Please share with us a resource you think our audience should check out.

One Hundred Years of Solitude, novel by Gabriel García Márquez.

Just for Fun: Which season represents you best and why?

Spring season represents me because my name means flower and I love blooming stages, both technically and figuratively. 😊
