Q & A with Janis Petrini, owner, Express Employment Professionals

Learn: Q: Let’s say you’re studying for a big exam. Are you a crammer, or do you like to plan ahead?

A: I do a combination of both. I prepare and then I cram.

Network: Q: How do you help a wallflower, who’s not comfortable networking at a professional event, loosen up?

A: I am the person who connects with them and makes them feel at ease and helps them to connect with others.

Q: Transfer: Mentorship - How do you think mentorship aids in knowledge transfer?

A: Having a mentor is the best way to learn and grow and be encouraged. A mentor gives you a vision of top performance and helps you to be your best self.

Q. Please share with us a just can’t live without.

A: I love the books by Simon Sinek, “Start with Why,” “Leaders Eat Last” and even “Together is Better.” His books are inspiring and they challenge you to be the best leader that you can be.

Q: If you lost one of your senses, which would you want it to be, and why?

A: I think it would be taste. I could still imagine what the taste could be even if I could not actually experience the taste.
