You’ve heard it before: Content is king.
But it’s useless if you’re not providing the kind of content your readers – and learners – want.
In a new Buffer post, Alfred Lua gives some tips for creating meaningful content that’s shareable on social media channels.
First, use analytics to determine which posts are popular so you can re-create content of similar topics. And don’t be afraid to ask your audiences what they want to read. He suggests posting a poll on Facebook or asking on Twitter.
Other strategies include learning from industry peers and creating marketing personas.
Networking can be hard for introverts, who often find it difficult to explore new and, sometimes uncomfortable, territories.
Brian Tracy, an Entrepreneur Network partner, recently posted a video to help introverts network.
“Introverts can actually network more effectively than extroverts,” Tracy says. “An extrovert might think he or she can simply show up and make connections, but an introvert is probably more inclined to be prepared and have a sense of whom to make those connections with and how to go about it. An introvert is also more likely to bring a friend to a networking event, and that friend can help make introductions. An introvert might also be more likely to stay in the moment, which your conversation partner will no doubt appreciate.”
We know there’s a mass exodus coming in the workplace as baby boomers retire. While employers are concerned about knowledge transfer, they should tap into retirees, according to a story in BedTimes Magazine.
Often, after retirement, former employees are willing to serve as consultants or mentor, thereby helping to retain knowledge.
“Every day we work with seasoned and accomplished professionals who have 25 years or more of experience in their field and want to work differently at this stage of their life,” says Deborah Seeger, senior vice president and co-founder of Patina Solutions, a consulting firm based in Brookfield, Wisconsin, that focuses on mentoring with seasoned executives. “They want to use all the experience, skills, knowledge and abilities they’ve built throughout their careers to help companies be faster, better and smarter while having more flexibility to do the things they want to do when they want to do them.”
